02.23.25.17 – Young Artist Initiative (YAI) presented Complements & Dichotomies, a 3-day exhibition from Thursday, February 23rd to Saturday, February 25th 2017 at the 1111 organized by the Young Artist Initiative in partnership with Lincoln Road’s #OnLincoln series.
The Young Artist Initiative (YAI) has made it their mission to empower Miami’s emerging artists through conceptually rooted exhibition and installations designed to foster community engagement and cultural development. The exhibition featured 14 emerging designers’ and artists’ including: Dante Dentoni, Miguel Braceli, Reed Van Brunschot, Jamey Grimes, Bernadette Despujols, among others.
The Young Artist Initiative (YAI) welcomed over 2,500+ guests to it’s first 3-day exhibition including Cynthia Ottchen Senior Designer William Lane Architect, Claudia Busch Architect BBA, Zaha Hadid, Richard Meier, Bernard Tschumi, Laura Randall scholar Rubell Family Collection, Richie Hell Faena’s Music Director, among others.
For it’s last installment, YAI had carefully selected Complements & Dichotomies as the conceptual base for exhibited works and installations. All participating artists and designers were presented with the challenge of interpreting the exhibition’s central thesis: How do aesthetic and functionality converge in the creation of beauty?
Over 2,500+ people came out to support Miami's Collective of Young Artists.
